2. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly:
- Order information — name, email address, phone number, shipping address, and billing address when you place an order.
- Payment information — credit/debit card details, PayPal account, or other payment method. We do not store your full card number; payments are processed securely by Stripe and PayPal.
- Account information — if you create an account, we store your name, email address, and an encrypted password.
- Communications — any messages, emails, or chat logs when you contact our support team.
- Newsletter sign-up — your email address when you subscribe to our newsletter or promotional emails.
Information collected automatically:
- Device & browser data — IP address (partially masked), browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution.
- Usage data — pages visited, time spent on pages, links clicked, and referring URLs.
- Traffic source — how you arrived at our site (e.g., Google search, Facebook ad, direct link).
- Location data — approximate city and state inferred from IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- Cookies & pixels — see Section 5 for full details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process and fulfill your orders, and send order confirmations and shipping updates.
- Respond to your support requests and customer service inquiries.
- Send transactional emails (order receipts, shipping notifications, invoice payment links).
- Send promotional emails and newsletters — only if you have opted in or placed an order with us. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, security breaches, or policy violations.
- Improve our website, product catalog, and customer experience using aggregated analytics data.
- Show relevant ads on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Google, and TikTok using pixels and conversion events.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following circumstances:
- Payment processors — Stripe and PayPal receive your payment information to process transactions. Their privacy policies apply to how they handle your data.
- Shipping carriers — we share your name and shipping address with carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS) to fulfill your order.
- Email service providers — we use an SMTP service to send order confirmation and marketing emails on our behalf.
- Analytics platforms — Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and our own first-party analytics receive anonymous usage data. GA4 data is pseudonymized and does not include your full IP address.
- Advertising platforms — we share conversion events (e.g., "purchase completed") with Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google Ads, TikTok, Bing, and Twitter/X to measure ad performance. This data is sent in hashed or anonymized form where possible.
- Legal requirements — we may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights and safety of Cyberbike, our customers, or others.
- Business transfers — if Cyberbike is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
We use cookies, pixel tags, and similar technologies to operate our website and improve your experience. Here is what we use:
Essential cookies (always active):
- Shopping cart session — stores your cart items in your browser's local storage so your cart persists between pages.
- Cookie consent preference — remembers whether you accepted or declined cookies.
- Authentication token — keeps you logged in to your Cyberbike account.
Analytics cookies (requires consent):
- Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — tracks page views, sessions, and user behavior to help us understand how visitors use the site. Data is anonymized (IP addresses are truncated). Google Privacy Policy →
- First-party analytics — we log page views in our own database using a masked IP address. No personal data is stored.
Advertising & remarketing pixels (requires consent):
- Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) — tracks website visits and purchase events to measure ad performance and show relevant ads. We also use Facebook CAPI (Conversions API) for server-side event matching. Meta Privacy Policy →
- Google Ads (Google Tag) — tracks conversions from Google Ads campaigns.
- TikTok Pixel — tracks page views and purchase events for TikTok ad campaigns.
- Microsoft/Bing UET — tracks conversions from Bing Ads.
- X/Twitter Pixel — tracks conversions from X ad campaigns.
You can control cookie preferences using our cookie consent banner shown when you first visit the site. You can also opt out of advertising-based tracking through the platforms directly or by visiting aboutads.info.
6. Marketing Communications
If you subscribe to our newsletter, create an account, or complete a purchase, we may email you about new products, promotions, and exclusive offers.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by:
- Clicking the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email, or
- Emailing us at support@cyberbike.com with "Unsubscribe" in the subject line.
We will continue to send you transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, and payment receipts) even if you unsubscribe from marketing, as these are necessary to fulfill your order.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse:
- All data transmitted between your browser and our server is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS).
- Payment card details are processed directly by Stripe and PayPal — we never store your full card number on our servers.
- Account passwords are stored as salted hashes — we cannot see your plain-text password.
- IP addresses in our analytics database are partially masked (the last octet is removed).
- Admin access to our systems requires authentication and is restricted to authorized personnel.
No method of internet transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, please contact us immediately at support@cyberbike.com.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy:
- Order data — retained for a minimum of 7 years for tax, accounting, and legal compliance purposes.
- Account data — retained until you request deletion or your account remains inactive for 3+ years.
- Analytics data — aggregated, anonymized analytics are retained indefinitely. Raw page-view logs are retained for up to 24 months.
- Marketing email list — retained until you unsubscribe or request removal.
- Abandoned cart data — retained for up to 90 days, then automatically expired.
To request deletion of your personal data, email us at support@cyberbike.com. Note that we may retain certain data as required by law even after a deletion request.
